Up to 600 H&M fans and enthusiasts lined up for over 8 hours outside the Penang store at Gurney Paragon Mall in anticipation of the Swedish fashion retailer throwing its doors open at 11am on 7th August 2013. Spreading across approximately 19,000 square feet, the store offers stylish clothing for ladies, men’s, teens, kids, and babies.
“After the success of our three H&M locations in Kuala Lumpur we are excited to open H&M in Penang and we will continue our expansion within Malaysia. H&M has always offered fashion and quality at the best price and we look forward to bring a new dimension to the shopping landscape in Penang and for its residents” said Dawn Chow, PR and Marketing Manager for H&M Malaysia.
Martin Romero, Area Manager for H&M Malaysia, officiated the red ribbon cutting ceremony along with Khairul Muazir Bin Yusoh, Store Manager for H&M Gurney Paragon Mall and welcomed an excited crowd of H&M lovers into its first Penang store. The lucky first customer in line was rewarded with a RM300 gift card, while the following 150 customers in line each received a gift card worth RM50.
So what’s next for H&M Malaysia? The next outlet to open will be Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur in Autumn 2013.
