Meet Carol Lee, the newly crowned Mrs. Universe 2013 who has sucessfully put our country on the international beauty pageant map. She claimed the vied-for title at the Mrs. Universe 2013 finals at The Westin Aruba Resort in the Caribbean islands. The theme and initiative for this year’s pageant was “Stop Domestic Violence”.
The 39 year-old former Miss Malaysia Chinese International 1995 (then known as the Miss Malaysia Chinatown) is an ex-news presenter and talk show host for “Hello On 2” on RTM. She also runs Starz Studio – a child development and learning centre for the young.
Lee beat 32 contestants from around the world including Mrs. USA, Mrs. Canada, Mrs. Brazil, Mrs. South Africa and Mrs. Belarus. She even outclassed her fellow beauty queens in the fan votes contest scoring 88,649 votes; followed closely by Mrs. USA Amanda Grand who polled 88,556 votes. That’s a close one!
The 173cm tall beauty has made the history as the first Asian woman to take the Mrs. Universe Crown. (Source)
