Remember that video of Charles Ramsey? The one that became an instant Internet meme?
Back in May, Charles Ramsey became famous for all the wrong reasons, mainly because of his enthusiastic gestures. But what people overlooked was that he had actually rescued three women who were kidnapped and presumed dead for the last ten years.
Charles helped rescue three women from Cleveland – Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight. The rescued victims endured years of both sexual and physical abuse under the captivity of Ariel Castro, Pedro Castro and Onil Castro. One of the victims, Michelle, was impregnated by Ariel five times and was even forced her to have a miscarriage by starving her and punching her in the stomach.
Thanks to help of Charles, the three women escaped and the kidnappers were arrested by the police.
Prosecutors has recently revealed photos of Ariel Castro’s house, the location where the three women were held captive for the last decade. These pictures is not only haunting, but they’re utterly disturbing as you can start to imagine just what torture these women had to go through.
