When I first heard of  Rachel K’s range of beauty products, I was a little skeptical. I have fairly sensitive skin and I’m extremely cautious about what products I put on my face. Mainly because I’m afraid of a horrible reaction that left my face swollen years ago.

Rachel K cosmetics took Malaysia by storm with its range of CC Creams, or Color Correcting creams. Created by former Miss Singapore, Rachel Kum, the brand thrives on providing good texture, coverage and comfortable skin interaction using chief ingredients.

Rachel K’s CC Cream hit Malaysian shores before the whole CC cream even started in Malaysia, but I decided to get my hands on one. BB creams are great for daily use, especially when you want to look a made up, but not overdone. I’ve practically gone through several tubes of BB Creams when it first came out, and I still can’t get enough of it.

The CC cream is more refined and takes the effect of the BB cream one step further as it neutralizes your skin tone. In short, it controls your skin color and the amount of oil on your skin,  while whitening, brightening, moisturizing and protecting your skin with its respective SPF content.

My only problem with BB creams is that they tend to be too light for my skin tone. I know a lot of women with medium to darker skin tones are extremely skeptical with BB creams because instead of making you look radiant, it just makes you look like you put on the wrong shade of foundation.

Rachel K’s CC Cream Neutral was a godsend. It’s perfect for women with medium to olive skin, and although it appears a little light, it really looks great once you leave it to absorb for 2 to 3 minutes. Much like a BB cream, a CC cream does not provide that much coverage, but it does enough to hide any mild discoloration you have on your skin.

Don’t believe me? Have a look at this three-step swatch:

I took the picture under direct sunlight to fully show its effect on my skin, and what it looks like after application. You can also see the difference between parts of the skin where the cream does not touch.

Rachel K CC Cream Neutral is by far my favorite CC cream ever. I would highly recommend this for women with medium to olive skin tone, with yellow or neutral undertones.

Rachel K Cosmetics is available online at Rachel K Cosmetics, Luxola.com, and at selected pharmacies nationwide.
