If you’re glad that you can finally get a breath of fresh air, don’t breathe in deep too soon, because the haze isn’t really over. Despite the improving situation in the affected areas in Sumatra due to cloud seeding and water bomber operations, we still predict that fog will return sometime in the upcoming months.
In order to monitor the condition of the haze, Google is helping us out by launching the Southeast Asia Haze Crisis map for the public to keep a watchful eye on the air quality levels.
The SEA Haze Crisis map doesn’t only allow you to view the air quality around Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. In fact, it also shows you a prediction on the haze situation in the upcoming masks too. Sounds like a sweet deal as you can start stocking up on the N95 masks at the last minute.
The data on the SEA Haze Crisis map are retrieved from the Department of Environment Malaysia, National Environment Agency of Singapore and the NASA Aeronet Ariel Images. (Source)
