The new kid on the block of low cost carriers, Malindo Air, has opened up more routes and has added Langkawi, Alor Setar, and Terengganu to its list of growing destinations.
A joint venture by Indonesia’s Lion Air and Malaysia’s NADI (National Aerospace & Defense Industries), Malindo Air kicked off its inaugural flights in March this year with trips to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Aimed to combine both low cost tickets with quality service, Malindo Air’s unique selling points are not only the convenience of departing from KLIA, but also the availability of light snacks onboard and in-flight entertainment, all free of charge.
As of now, Malindo Air operates with Boeing 737-900ER, Boeing 737-800, and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from several departure cities (Subang, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and others). From just two Malaysian destinations in March, Malindo Air is satisfying the demands of quality low cost flights with its expansion in air travel. It is said that the airline is also looking into offering international flights later this year.
