Hannah Yeoh: Malaysia’s First Female State Speaker

Subang Jaya assemblyman [assemblywoman, more like] has just sworn in as Speaker of the Selangor state assembly today!

She is the first female state speaker in Malaysian history! The mother of two is also the youngest to be appointed to the post. Seri Setia assemblyman Nik Nazmi Ahman was appointed as deputy speaker for the Selangor state assembly.

Hannah is a representative of the opposition party, Pakatan Rakyat.

Congratulations to Hannah Yeoh, and we hope that her position as state speaker in Selangor is a just and fruitful one!
