More than 7000 Facebook-users shared a video clip that showed the collapse of a lightning arrester pole in Jalan Macalister that occurred on last Thursday.
PDRM CCTV has showed a 15-second video clip of the lightning arrestor falling and hitting at least two vehicles including a Honda City, which is believed to belong to the victim Lim Chin Aik, 44.
The video was uploaded by an anonymous individual and went viral within minutes. The video shows a 20-metre long lightning arrester pole on the UMNO building that was toppled by the strong winds during a storm around 6.45pm last Thursday.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng showed the CCTV recordings to the victim’s family and media personnel earlier. The roads will reopen this afternoon after the cleaning process of that area has completed. Source
Police has confirmed the car number of the buried car matched the victim’s car which was reported missing. Among family members present were the victim’s parent, Ang Kim Hooi@Ang Kim Looi, 70 and Lim Tian Chor, 73.
