Miss Connecticut Erin Brady was named Miss USA 2013 at the annual Miss USA 2013 pageant at Planet Hollywood Resort Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 16, 2013. This year’s Miss USA, is not just a pretty face as it was revealed that she is a financial accountant with a finance degree at Central Connecticut State University, where she minored in criminal justice.
The 25-year-old East Hampton native, whose charm, wit and all-American good looks helped her beat out 50 other gorgeous contestants to snag the coveted crown and title, will go on to represent the United States in this year’s Miss Universe pageant at Moscow this November.
Brady gets the crown and a New York apartment for one year. Brady also said that she was looking forward to telling her bosses at Prudential Financial that she would not be coming in today, or ever again.
She is expected to spend her title reign on a nationwide speaking tour and raising breast and ovarian cancer awareness, the organization’s official cause.
The 1st runner-up to 5th runner-up of the Miss USA 2013 pageant are Miss Alabama Mary-Margaret McCord, Miss Illinos Stacie Juris, Miss Utah Marissa Powell, Miss Texas Alexandria Nugent and Miss South Carolina Megan Pinckney, respectively.
PETA has made a provocative ad featuring four nude former Miss USA winners. The tagline is: “Feel Beautiful in Your Own Skin, and Let Animals Keep Theirs.”
