Looks like Kuala Lumpur is finally going to be on par with other major cities when it comes to music events, because this year is just packed with raves, parties, and concerts! Good Vibes Festival (#GoodVibesFest) is another newcomer that we’re really excited about, as it promises to be an event where music lovers can relax and enjoy live tunes while experiencing art, fashion and food attractions.
The official line-up of the first ever Good Vibes Fest has already been announced! Indie-rock fans in particular, will be overjoyed with the international line-up:
Smashing Pumpkins
Modest Mouse
Japandroids
Ash
Malaysian acts like Kyoto Protocol, Deer Society, Twilight Actiongirl, Liyana Fizzy and more will also be taking the stage!
Fashion apparel sponsor Chic Yamada will also be curating Chic Vibes, Good Vibes Festival’s dedicated style and fashion zone. Chic Vibes will feature a chill-out lounge offering respite from the festival’s hustle and bustle. Chic Vibes is the result of a partnership with fashion news portal Tongue in Chic (TiC), which turns five this month. To celebrate, TiC will be working with independent fashion names like FabSpy, The Lilac Box, WhiteRabbitKL, Actually KL, Bazarro, and Seethrough exclusively for Good Vibes Festival. Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to purchase limited-edition fashion-forward pieces from a multi-brand pop-up store curated especially by TiC for the festival.
At the Good Bites food village, hungry festival-goers will find retreat in over a half dozen local artisanal food vendors serving up a variety of offerings to whet appetites of all sizes. Graze on sushi from Sushi King, sandwiches from Yay! Sammich, or hot dogs from KKR Hot Dogs. For heavier meals, feast on pitas and wraps from Thyme Out Food Truck, burgers from Burger Botak, or tacos and nachos from Cabrera’s Tacos. Add some sweetness to a fun festival day out with refreshing fruity popsicles from The Potong Artisanal Pops as well as Sweet & Savoury’s desserts.
To complete the festival experience, Malaysian artist Nini Ramlan will design and curate art installations to bring the venue to life. Although rooted artistically in 2-dimensional design, Nini will dip her toes in interactive and spatial art design for the festival, collaborating with designer friend Lukas Lim of Studio Lukas Lim.
