Exfoliation involves the removal of old dead skin cells on the skin’s outermost surface, and scrubs have been used for many years to help maintain healthy skin. This shedding of the outer layer unclogs pores, keeps skin clean, and helps reduce acne outbreaks. Usually we exfoliate our face once a week to reveal our newer skin layer.
Over time, the skin’s vitality boosts and is capable of taking advantage of the increased flow of blood and oxygen. Now a far younger looking and vivid physical appearance is becoming evident. There are two major exfoliating methods which are peeling and scrubbing. Here’s a simple way to differentiate between a peel and a scrub.
Scrub
Both scrubs and peels come with the same function – the difference lies on how it works. Scrubs usually form with cream with buffing beads or pharmaceutical grade crystal powder. All you have to do is simply put some on your palm and massage it all over your face and neck. All in all, a scrub can be compared to a microdermabrasion effect. You can use a scrub weekly as it onlytakes only couple of minutes. Rub it into your skin and wash it off. But for those who have severe blemishes and acne skin, don’t use.
Peels
Peeling works best as an alternative for people with blemished skin. Peeling masks are very effective in not just remove dead skin cells, but also blackheads, skin impurities, unwanted facial hair, while improving skin colour and texture. These types of mask are usually have more hydrating properties as opposed to regular masks.
