The victim who died in the collapse of the second Penang Bridge was identified as Tajudin Zainal Abidin. He was on his way home with dinner, and his daughter was eagerly waiting for him at home.
“My father called me at 6.30pm to ask what I wanted to eat”.
“I waited but he still didn’t come home after two hours,” said Nur Aina Syazwani who was at the Penang Hospital mortuary with about 10 family members.
Tajudin, 45, was a former policeman, and he died after the Perodua Kelisa he was driving was crushed and buried under the collapsed ramp.
When he had failed to return home by 8pm, Tajudin’s wife Sharifah Ramli went searching for him.
Three people were injured from the collapse, two of which are foreigners.
