It’s pretty simple tasks for girls to apply mascara. However, there are a few errors you should be aware of. Mascara is a beauty staple that none of us should go without. Even you don’t have time to put on a full face of make-up; you’ll still be using mascara before you head out the door.
So, do you think that you apply your mascara correctly? These are the five most common mascara mishaps that you should avoid.
Let It Go
This is the most mistakes we’ve ever done. Mascaras have a shelf life of 3 to 6 months only once you’ve opened it. The germs that grow in old mascaras can cause itchiness and redness right after you applied it. If you can’t remember when did you get your mascara, toss it.
Pumping It Up
Most of women tend to pump the brush into the tube several times before they applying mascara. But do you know that pumping the wand in and out countlessly of the tube pushes extra air into the tube and causing clumps and flakes. It even dries your mascara faster. Just twist the wand as you pull it out of the tube.
Too Many Coats
We know some of you might hear from other false information that the more layers you apply the thicker and bolder your eye lashes will be. It’s actually meant to be layered twice. The more you put on, the more likely it will dry mid-application and it’ll be clumpy. Stick to one or two coats for natural look unless you’re going for the “Spider lash look”.
Pressing Too Hard
If you press too hard at the base, you’ll get brush marks on your upper lid for sure. Some of us might be heavy handed when applying mascara. If it does happen, use a cotton bud or tip to clean up before it dries out. It’s time for you to get rid of this bad habit. Or improvise with a slim eyeliner.
Exposed Roots
We believe we have the same issue when it comes to this. Neglecting your roots especially those with light colored eyelashes, your lashes will look shorter than they actually are. The perfect way to apply your mascara is to begin at the root of your lashes. Place the wand at the root and gently wiggle back and forth as you pull the wand towards the tip. If you’re afraid of it getting around your eyelid, get a card, place it close to the root of your lashes and apply mascara.
