A Chinese teenager was caught defacing an ancient Egyptian temples just after China’s government attacked ‘uncivilized’ tourists for ruining the country’s reputation abroad.
The teenager posted a picture of the graffiti written in Chinese that said “Ding Jinhao was here”. The graffiti was written on a 3500-year-old hieroglyphics on the wall of the Luxor Temple.
The parents of 15-year-old Ding Jinhao apologized for their son. Ding’s mother told sources: “We want to apologize to the Egyptian people and to people who have paid attention to this case across China”.
Unfortunately, Ding Jinhao wasn’t very apologetic about defacing the 3500-year-old relic when he posted, “What’s the big deal about writing just a few words?”
Chinese netizens were so unhappy with Ding that they’ve hacked the teenager’s school website to shame him. Ding’s mother reported that her son has been crying due to the cyberattacks which prompted them to issue an apology. (Source)
