Getting tired of waking up and feeling like the night before was a massive mistake or blur even? Waste not what not and make the most of your day by getting rid of your hangover first thing! Here are some foods to make sure you have in stock at home when planning a big night out.

Oatmeal
Oatmeal will give you an energy lift and helps neutralise acids in the body, perfect for if you have been out boozing the night before. Keep it simple with a few scoops of rolled oats, and heat it up with warm milk and a dash of honey and cinnamon to taste. Enjoy it warm and creamy!

Bananas
Bananas are high in natural sugars to help with your energy levels and are another potassium rich food which will help replenish your body. Eat one or two ripe bananas or make it a whole meal in the form of a smoothie. Simply use two bananas, a cup of yogurt, a some milk, a splash of honey and two tablespoons of oats to replenish your body with nutrients! You can always throw in your favorite berries to fill your smoothie up with some antioxidants!

Isotonic Drinks
An isotonic beverage rich in electrolytes  will replace your body with all the good natural salts you will have lost the night before partying. A bottle of Gatorade will be great, but if you don’t have any in your fridge, just mix up a jug of fruit punch and pour two or three pinches of sea salt or rock salt for a light electric boost!

 Chocolate
This unlikely gem will help you recover thanks to its potassium content, along with sugar for a blood-glucose pick-me-up. Instead of chowing down your usual candy bar or a bar of milk chocolate, a few chunks of dark chocolate will help get rid of the hangover and the headache. But don’t go overboard, because too much chocolate (yes, there’s such a thing) can worsen your hangover with a migraine.

Mac & Cheese
If you are looking to misbehave and indulge in this childhood favourite, your hangover could be just the excuse! Carbs will help soak up acidity, or alcohol, in your stomach and help cushion the ache. Meanwhile the cheese will provide your body with helpful proteins helping it recover.
