Time to cool down for the warm months because we’re rounding up the trends for Spring/Summer 2013! Take a look at what we’re keen on, and tell us which one’s your favorite!
Leather
Leather was huge last Autumn/ Winter with all of the studded jackets, boots and tight trousers. But fear not, warmer weather doesn’t mean leather is out of trend nor does it mean it has to be boiling to wear! Revamp your choices of leather with softer, more lightweight pieces in lighter colours. Perforated leather always looks a lot less harsh and more Spring/ Summer appropriate too.
Pastel
Pastel shades are great for Spring/ Summer as they work to soften harsher materials such as leather as said. It is also an easy way to incorporate sweaters and skinny jeans without looking too harsh or like you are still stuck in Winter! Most simple pastel pieces like this can be easily paired with black and looks can be manipulated to last you all year round. I’d say a few good pastel garments are staple in every girls wardrobe- not JUST this Spring/ Summer!
Floral
It is no surprise that the floral print comes back every Summer as it can be done in so many different ways. Find one that suits you and pick it up not only in the typical Summer floral dress but be daring and get some printed jeans, blazers or blouses. All it takes is to be daring with one floral print piece and you can make a statement out of any outfit… when it is executed properly so do not get carried away!
Lace
Lace when done subtly or styled well adds a lot of sophistication to an outfit and is very womanly. Seeing as it is so soft-looking you can still wear dark lace in Spring/ Summer by piecing it with lighter palettes. The same goes for Autumn/ Winter, your lace pieces can stay as they can be easily transformed with fur jackets which would make them look even more sophisticated. Lace is much more versatile than a lot of people would expect, if you have one nice black lace blouse you can easily wear it in the Summer paired with lightweight blue denim, chiffon and shorts etc. You can then take the same shirt when it gets cooler and pair it with a heavier, darker denim, knits and weather appropriate trousers.
