BlackBerry Messenger (or BBM) users who’ve switched to different devices will have happy to know that it BlackBerry Messenger will no longer be exclusive to BlackBerry devices! Turns out, the company has decided to make BBM available to Android and iOS devices later this year!
Although it’s currently pending approval from Apple and Google, BlackBerry states that the first iteration of the BBM for Android and iOS will feature many elements that BBM users are familiar with. This includes the immediacy of BBM chats, multi-person chats, photo and voice notes sharing, and BBM Groups with up to 30 people in a single group. In addition to that, the app will be free on both platforms.
According to Lowyat.Net, BBM will also support iOS 6 and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher, but further information about the full system requirements and availability will only be announced close to the app’s launch date.
