After reading Kara Nesvig’s guide to “trashy” beauty, we were pretty stoked that someone admitted that not all girls want to rely on just a lipstick and some eyeliner for makeup. Well, of course that’s perfect for days when you don’t want to look like you’re going to twenty.one in Changkat Bukit Bintang on a Friday night, but whoever said that it’s wrong for us to wear rainbows on our faces? Let your crazy flag fly, we say. But of course, don’t go overboard. No one should ever attend board meetings looking like Kesha. No one!
Colored eyeliner is quite possibly the best thing to ever exist in your makeup loot. Even if you’re not a makeup maestro like Michelle Phan, you can’t deny that makeup gets a woman excited, the way video games make men excited. Colored eyeliner can be a fabulous way to space up regular look, but this time we’ve decided to take on three eyeliners, including a bright pink eyeshadow pencil that’s absolutely to-die-for! We call this look..
The [Accidental] Disco Mermaid
Kindly pardon those heavy eye-bags. We ran out of concealer.
What we used:
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie and Asphyxia
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Noise
Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Diamond Dog and Intergalactic
NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Blue
The magic stick
Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On range is extremely dear to us. It’s tough and waterproof, and the colors are so vivid, you can literally cry and it wouldn’t even spill. We tested it as we went swimming and we can confirm that it didn’t even run during and after the two-hour swim.
We opted to use three colored eyeliners! Yes, three! That’s how bold we are here at Lipstiq! On top of that, we used a bright pink eyeshadow! We’re so hardcore, you couldn’t even believe!
Instructions:
1. Start with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Noise, and spread it all over the eyelid, filling up the crease as well.
2. Line the upper eyelid in a cat-eye with NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Blue.
3. Use an eyeshadow blending brush and blend Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Diamond Dog in the crease. Then take Intergalactic, and shade it up a little higher to give off a slight purple hint.
4. On the lower eyelid, apply Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie just around the lower lash line of your eye. It should only fill up the outer corners. Then take Asphyxia and line the inner corners. You should have a slight hint of green and lilac on your lower lid.
5. Finish off with mascara, and voila. Disco Mermaid!
You can wear this look anytime you want to. We’re not going to tell you when you should or should not wear it. Let your freak flag fly, we say!
