Betty Chew, wife of Penang Chief Minister and DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng shaved her head this morning to protest against money politics in Malaysia.
Betty, along with other DAP members and supporters gathered at Kek Lok Si Temple, Air Itam, Penang, for the gathering called ‘Going Bald Protest Money Politics.’ Among the DAP leaders and candidates who followed Betty Chew’s footsteps are Phee Boon Poh, Jagdeep Singh, Yap Soo Huey and Teh Yee Cheu.
Lim Guan Eng himself was also present. Although he did not have his head shaved, he was there to support his party members and was holding his wife’s hand during the process.
The protest was organized by a group of non-politicians who wished to raise awareness about the severity of money politics in our country.
