The Malaysian police force has recently released a statement in response to the video of a girl who was bullied by six of her her high school peers.
The Batu Pahat Police District Head, Superintendent Mohd Nor Bin Rashid said the six teenagers were between the ages 15 to 16, and were caught for beating, kicking and torturing the poor 14-year-old. The case happened sometime in January this year in Kota Tinggi, Johor.
He said: “The students who have been caught were fined RM 500 to be paid to the victim and were released on bail with the condition of good behaviour for the next three (3) years. They have to also report themselves at the Department of Social Welfare / Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) every month for the next two (2) years.”
The video went viral through Facebook and has since received a lot of negative complaints from the public about the cruelty of bullies in schools.
