She was on a walk to the bus stop to work, when a four-wheel drive stopped beside her two men tried to snatch her bag.
The witness, a couple say 23-year-old UTAR graduate Loh Sing Ying being beaten and robbed. They were only a short distance away when they cried for help and ran towards Sing Ying, but the car was gone.
Sing Ying’s bother, Loh Chun Chia said the couple could not see the incident clearly as their view wa blocked by some political banners.
“When they reached her, my sister was lying on the ground but still alive.
“They said she was conscious but unable to speak,” he said. The couple hailed the armed forces personnel to call for an ambulance. They left her on the sidewalk thinking she was going to be okay, but they soon heard that she had passes away when they saw the news on Friday night.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Zakaria Pagan confirmed police have recorded statements from the couple and are now investigating the case as a snatch theft-cum-murder.
According to Pagan, the post-mortem report revealed the cause of death was liver laceration and internal bleeding as her lower back and front abdominal was heavily.
Loh Sin Ying had just started working at a bank in Jalan Imbe after graduating from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She was the youngest of three siblings.
