Tea tree oil is pretty much a miracle oil in our books. Found in so many products like shampoos, facial soaps and ointments, it comes with healing powers and it can be used as an antiseptic for wounds and even heal skin disorders.
Also known as melaleuca, tea tree oil originates from Australia, but you don’t have to go all the way to Australia to get you hands on this miracle oil. They’re easily available in most pharmacies and beauty stores, but try looking for tea tree oils that are more pure as they tend to be way more effective. But before you invest in some tea tree oil, how about we wow you with the list of things you can cure with just a few milligrams of this miracle oil.
Acne and Pimple Treatment
After your skin cleansing routine, just massage a small amount of tea tree oil on the affected area, and apply with every 5 hours.
Toenail Fungus
If you suffer from toenail fungus, simply use 1 or 2 drops and apply it directly onto the infected toenails. Rub it in, above and under the tip of the nail. Do this twice a day.
Oral Infections
If you suffer from bad breath, inflamed gums or even plaque for that matter, you’ll be happy o know that tea tree oil is an extremely powerful bacteria killer. Just add there drops of tea tree oil into a cup of warm water and use it as a mouthwash solution about two to three times a day. Just remember not to swallow it.
Sore Throat and Nasal Congestion
If you have a sore throat, you gargle with a tea tree oil mouthwash as mentioned above, but if you have a stuffy nose, add three drops of tea tree oil in a pot of boiling hot water and just inhale the vapours for about five to ten minutes.
Vaginal Yeast Infection
Bathe in a tub of warm water that mixed with about two cups of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of tea tree oil. You can also combine a teaspoon of tea tree oil and a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol and use it as a douche, once a day.
Warning: If you have sensitive skin, you may be feel some irritation from tea tree oil. Undiluted tea tree oil, depending on its potency can also cause itchiness, burns and redness, even on normal skin. So be sure to test it on your skin first before buying a whole bottle.
