Smiling takes a lot of work, and the best smile is when you bare your teeth. But to smile with confidence takes strong and healthy teeth. If you want to bedazzle the world with your smile, here are ten tips for healthy and strong pearly whites!

1. Drink Plenty of Water
Drinking water does not only flush any food residue left in your mouth, but as it also hydrates your internal system, it helps keep bad breath away.

2. Practice Proper Oral Hygiene
Practicing proper techniques to maintain oral hygiene is one the key steps to healthy oral health. Brush your teeth at least twice a day with the right toothpaste suitable for your teeth.

3. Brush Your Teeth the Right Way
Brushing your teeth is not just a simple chore where you can get it done in just ten seconds. Spend at least a minute to brush the every inch of your teeth scrubbed away from any food particles.

4. Choose the Right Toothbrush
You want to find the right toothbrush that will clean your teeth while effectively remove as much food particles, but so rough that it scrubs off the enamel on your teeth. Too tough of a toothbrush can also damage your gums, causing gingivitis.

5. Floss After Each Meal
On top of brushing, you should floss your teeth regularly, especially after every meal. Meat and vegetables can often get stuck in the gaps between your teeth, and it can cause both tooth decay and gum disease. By flossing, you can ensure the space between your teeth is clean and your gums will be healthy.

6. Take Vitamin C
Getting your daily dose of Vitamin C won’t just save you from a cold, but your teeth and gums will also require vitamin C to reduce dental issues, especially gingivitis.

7. Avoid Starchy Snacks and Sugar
Sugary foods and starchy food gives bacteria the chance to make acid from them and it. It lasts about 20 minutes eat time you eat, and it can damage your teeth.

8. Stay Away from Coffee and Tea
Coffee and tea are both high in caffeine and not only do they stain your teeth, but it reacts with the calcium you have in your body, lowering its ability in your body.

9. Schedule Frequent Dental Check-ups
Just as you would see the doctor to see how healthy you are, visit the dentist every six months at most to see if you need to be treated. Cavities develop very often and if you prolong it, it may get worse.

10. Drink Milk
For strong and healthy teeth, drink a glass of milk daily since your body needs calcium too. If you’re lactose intolerant, here’s a list of  high calcium foods that do not contain dairy.
