White eyeliner from being a make up item to just do creative make up, has become a staple essential in every girl’s make up kit! Yes, it creates some really dramatic looks but here are a couple of tricks and tips that allow you to use it on a daily without being over the top.
1. Big-eye illusion
Just by drawing on your waterline of your lower lids, it gives your eyes a brighter and bigger look. Add one or two layers of mascara if you are going for a doll-like look.
2. Bye-bye spots
White eyeliner makes a pretty good spot corrector or red blemish hider. All you have to do is cover the spot, slightly smudge it, and then blend it with some concealer until it conceals the spot well enough. Don’t forget to start it off with a treatment gel to avoid irritation.
3. Brow bone highlight
Adding definition you your brow bone gives a better and slimmer angle to your face, while making your eyebrows more prominent. While you can use a light shimmery eyeshadow, white eyeliner will give it a more subdued look. Start by swiping it along your brow bone and then blend it in neatly, following the brow bone structure.
4. Wide awake
This is perfect for smaller eyes, or someone who wants to make an impact with the eye make up. All you have to do is draw a ‘V’ shape on the inner corner of the eyes and blend it. It will automatically make your eyes look more awake. To avoid smudging, apply a primer first.
5. Half and half
Line the waterline of your lower lid halfway in white (from the inner corner, to where your pupils are) and continue with a black liner. This gives it an artistic, old-fashioned Twiggy inspired look.
6. Rainbow Theory
A pure white base allows colours to show up brighter and more intense. Just draw on your eyelid with a thick white eyeliner pencil (or do a double line with a thinner one), smudge it all over your eyelid and apply your coloured eyeshadow above that. Your eyeshadow colors will strike out better.
