Long eyelashes are considered a sign of femininity in many cultures, and also they make a huge impact on how our eyes pop! Which is why we ladies love mascara! But have you ever had your mascara clump up, and you try to fix it by pulling on them only to have your eyelash come out? Don’t fret because here are some easy tips on how to use mascara and take care of your eyelashes!
1. When using mascara, wipe the sides of the wand with a tissue to avoid excess of it clumping your eyelashes. Place the wand at the root of your lashes, and wiggle up in a double “S” formation towards the tips.
2. Make sure you do the bottom lashes as well to create a more impactful, smoldering eyes.
3. Replace your mascara every three to six months. Mascara needs to be replaced more often than most make up.
4. If by accident, you have pulled out your eyelashes, don’t worry! They will grow back. Not instantly, but probably within 7 to eight weeks.
5. If your a frequent mascara-user, you should invest in an eyelash comb (yes, there is such a thing!) and comb through your lashes to get rid of clumps to seperate your eyelashes so they don’t get stuck together.
6. Mascara is safe if you don’t wear waterproof everyday as it will dry out your lashes with frequent wear.
7. Make sure you remove all the mascara off every time you use it! Use a make up remover or baby oil, and wipe it gently, without pulling on it or scrubbing it or the lashes will come loose.
8. Use a bit of Vaseline (available at any pharmacy) or petroleum jelly between your thumb and index finger, and gently run it over your lashes before you go to sleep. Or if you rather, by dipping a q-tip in petroleum jelly and gently brushing it onto your lashes. This will help strengthen and lengthen your eyelashes.
