Creative Storage Ideas For Small Bedrooms

Bedroom is definitely our favourite room in the house as it is a comfortable hideaway from the outside world. There are so many things to do in our bedroom but it’s hard to deny that these things are taking up most of the spaces of the room. Sooner or later, there would be no more spaces for us to store our items and searching for something becomes increasingly difficult. Organizing the bedroom can be quite a daunting task as you’ll need a lot of storage ideas that helps to free up a lot of space. But with a little creativity, organizing the room becomes much more easier and here we’ve put together some cool and creative storage ideas for our bedroom!

1. Under bed storage

Get a few sliding drawer units that fit under beds or storage bins so that you can store your extra linen, blankets, bed sheets, pillows or the other necessary things for your bedroom. As these things are needed only when you are going to have guests to stay over, it shouldn’t be a problem to store them under bed so that you can have more space in the room.

With a short walls built in the room, the Murphy bed can be hidden in the wall and pull out when it’s in use. When the bed is hidden in the wall, it provide a full floor access that free up a lot of space in the room! In fact, some of the wall bed can house a foldout desk on the other side too.

3. Install hooks

For accessories such as belts, ties, coat or scarves, you can hang them on the hooks by installing the hooks on the wall or behind doors. The hooks can keep things off your table and floors and usually take up no space as compared to the coat racks.

Make full use of the vertical spaces by installing bookshelves on the wall so that you can mount your books or DVDs. There are different creative designs for the bookshelves in your bedroom but make sure you get the one that allows more spaces and fit your room the best. You can make full use of the console of your bed as well as they usually provide spaces for all the small and decorative items.

5. Boxes

All the boxes especially old shoe boxes come in handy to store all the little things in your room. You can put them on your study table or dressing table so that they are organized in a neater way with a decorative cover. But most of them

Add drawers or shelf units into your closet to store your clothes and hang the clothes you frequently wear on the rod in your closet. All your favourite clothes or shoes should be put up front and center while the rest can be hidden behind and stashed in the drawer.

Instead of having a dressing table, install a large floor length mirror for your closet door as it helps to save up your space. The concept is similar to the point 4 to go vertical for small spaces. In fact, the mirror can gives an optical illusion that simply make your room looks bigger too!

8. Drawer organisers

It’s always good to have more drawers in your room so that you can organize your stuffs accordingly. You can put labels on each drawer so that things like jewellries, undergarments, electrical appliances and other random stuffs are separated under different categories. In fact, it can helps to keep them clean and free from dust bunnies and bed bugs too.

Rather than arranging your shoes in horizontal order, the shoes can be arranged with a hanging shoe organizer so that they are arranged in vertical order. The hanging shoe organizer keeps your shoe collection from the mix-and-match pile and make the room looks neater too.

10. Stack your suitcases

Suitcases can take up a lot of spaces in the room so the best way to store them is by stacking the suitcases from the largest to the smallest. All the small suitcases or bags can be put into the large suitcase with the frequently used suitcases put on top.
