The statement prompted deputy public prosecutor Lee Keng Fatt, who is assisting in the inquest to ask if William had gone to Onking, to which Yau said he did not. Yau then said that his wife took their daughter, Cindy into the electrical shop to look for William.
When she returned to the car, Yau asked Eric where William had gone.
“Eric then said that William went to look for his mother,” said Yau. Yau added that he then locked Eric in the car and went looking for William for about 15 minutes at the nearby burger and satay stalls.
Assistant Superintendent, Nor Hafiza Mat Nor explained that the possibility was through an uncovered drain near Onking that connected all the way to the jetty. However a post-mortem could not determine the cause of death as William’s body had decomposed.
