Just not to long ago, 450 students from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Choong Hua 2, Bidor, Perak, gave the thumbs up to Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (Dutch Lady Malaysia) when nutritious and tasty meal packs were distributed to them during an educational talk held today.

This was part of Dutch Lady Malaysia’s ‘Back to School’ campaign in which the objective was to drive awareness on healthy eating habits and consuming the right nutrition in optimising one’s learning capacity.

Based on a recent short survey conducted at the school, only 71% of students who attend the morning session eat breakfast before going to school. The research also showed that approximately 84% of students purchase their meal from the canteen, therefore making it important that they are educated on what consist of a balanced meal.

Highlights of the school visit included an interactive question and answer session with a special emphasis given to milk as an essential food source based on the Malaysian food guide pyramid. Students were also encouraged to drink between one and three glasses of milk or dairy products per day as part of a healthy, balanced diet.

During the session, students were also taught how to prepare easy, balanced meals at home. One of the suggestions was sandwiches with milk which works as a quick fix that is nutritious, filling and sufficient for the needs of growing children.

In line with Dutch Lady Malaysia’s initiative to spread the goodness of milk, Dutch Lady School milk packs were also distributed to the students in a handy and cute meal container which is named ‘bekas moo’. The meal container is also packed with a complete meal consisting egg mayo and peanut butter raisin cereal sandwiches.

Dutch Lady School milk is formulated to cater to pre-school and primary school students, as it is packed with Omega 3 and Omega 6, Vitamin B3 and Vitamin B6, to help enhance brain development and improve attention span in school for optimum learning. Also available in Strawberry and Chocolate flavours, the milk comes in a convenient 200ml pack for students to drink on the go, or to pack the milk as part of their take-away meal.
