Just to give you a heads up, we’re listing down ten different movies that we suggest you don’t watch alone. We’re not only talking about horror movies (that one is a given) but we’re also putting in the list a couple of romantic films and heart-wrenching films we think are best seen with a friend or a loved one beside you. So, get everyone together, and watch these movies!
1. The Exorcist
Who watches The Exorcist alone. There are a dozen versions of this movie, but the 1973 is considered to be the original of them all. It’s really the type of movie that’ll keep you on the edge of seat and scared the entire night. So, if you want to watch it, we suggest brining over a friend… or even a crush (it’s a good excuse to cling on to someone, right?)
2. My Sisters Keeper
Like we said, this is a list of movies you shouldn’t really watch alone – it doesn’t always mean horror movies. My Sisters Keeper is just one of those heartfelt and moving movies that we think you should watch with your siblings and your parents even. It’s just that kind of movie that’ll create a new level of bonding.
3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
This is an old movie, and may not have the same special effects as we do nowadays – but this is the ultimate classic gory movie. No doubt, if you switch off the lights, so watch this movie, you will deinately get a little scared. So, keep a friend with you to keep you sane.
4. The Thing (1982)
This is the kind of movie that revolves around the supernatural – though, we’re sure some of you could take it. We personally wouldn’t be able to off the edge of our seats. This is your classic thriller that really has that element of surprise. So cling on to your friend, if possible.
5. Hostel
If you’re into gory movies, then you have every right to watch this alone. But, if you’re unsure on how you feel about explicitly gory movies, then it’s safer to watch this with someone. We can asure you that cringing will be involved through out the entire movie.
6. Inception
Now here is a movie that will mess with your head in more ways than you can count. Having a friend or a loved one watch this with you would be the best idea if you want to remain sane at the end of the movie. No doubt this movie is A-grade perfection, but the entire concept may be a little hard to grasp on your own.
7. American Pie
Get a group of friends over and just have an American Pie marathon. Without fail, everyone will have a dose of fun. This is the kind of movie that is best watched with more than one person – the jokes will be better, you’ll notice more punch lines and you’ll literally be laughing the night away. That’s the most important part .
8. The Notebook
As cheesy as this is – it’s really one of the best movies to watch with your partner. After all the term, ‘you’ve been notebooked’ doesn’t come from nothing. This is just one of those romantic films that every couple should defiantly watch together.
9. Lord Of The Rings
This is meant to be for those who haven’t read the book, or don’t really know the story of what LOTR is all about. Try to get a friend who has read the book and knows the entire store to come along with you. But if not, get another clueless friend to accompany you while you both watch and get lost in the world of drawfs and all kinds of magic.
10. American History X
This is probably one of the most heart wrenching movies you will ever watch. It’s full of sorrow, pain and the main thing about this movie is that is in fact based on a true story. You will definitely need someone by your side to help tone down that anger – because this is the kind of movie that will definitely fuel up some fire.
