Heart-shaped chocolates are so mainstream that a Japanese café is now selling the ultimate personalized chocolate with your face on them!
The Japanese café, FabCafe in Shibuya is known for offering lattes and laser-cutting services, creates a socializing space for people in the design industry. The café, owned by a digital media production agency LoftWork features unique designs in the interior, making it a one-of-a-kind space for everyone.
In conjunction with the love-infested Valentine’s Day, KS Design Lab invited people to take a picture and edited their facial data by using the 3D body scanner. The scanned pictures are then used to turned into a silicon moulds in the shape of their head. The silicone moulds were then filled with chocolate truffle to make a “mini me” treats on a stick.
As it is a tradition for Japanese women to express their loved ones on Valentine’s Day, many women participated in the chocolate-making workshop to make the chocolates based on their facial data. Each participant can take home the mould in making more chocolates as well.
As for the men, they’ll have to wait for until the 14th of March as the workshop was only open to women. Men can make their own personalized chocolate on 14th of March, which is the day where men return the favour on the gender-role opposite Valentine’s Day, White Day.
