This American singer-songwriter was once the lead singer in the band, Meg & Dia then soon after, she became the runner-up into the inaugural season of The Voice. One thing leads to another, and here she is with her new solo album, Red.

Our verdict:

This is her first ever solo album – and definitely a big leap if you ask us. Going solo takes a lot of courage – but ofcourse, after her good win with The Voice, she had that confidence.

This album is a mix of everything from country, pop, and even a tinge of indie rock. Every song is different but at the same time, you can tell that it’s Dia Frampton as she’s got this certain style of singing. We love that she dabbled in all these kinds of tunes, it makes the album that much more interesting.

Her lyrics are based on love and being confident – which is definitely something that is appealing to the ears, especially for us girls .We can definitely relate in some way or another.

In this album, she collaborated with two other artists which are the complete opposite of each other. First there’s Kid Cudi for the song, “Don’t Kick The Chair” – which is a very interesting song with an odd beat but gives up the 90’s music feel. Then she collaborated with The Voice judge himself, Blake Shelton on the song “I Will” – ofcourse, this song had the most country-pop feel to all the songs on this Red album.

All in all, this is the kind of album you would turn on, on a lazy Sunday afternoon or if you’re going for a calm drive to the beach – it’s just that soothing and simple. Though each song is completely different, there is still a similarity in the tempo so it’s not too much for the years to handle.

Top 3 songs from this album:
1. Walk Away
2. The Broken One
3. Don’t Kick The Chair

So there you have it – our thougths on Dia Fampton’s new solo album, Red! Take a list and tell us what you think!
