Our Review
Overall, The Last Stand is a an overall action flick that doesn’t fail to entertain. With Johnny Knoxville in the picture, you know it’s gonna be one entertaining ride, and it certainly was. But Knoxville’s charm and eccentricity did not overshadow’s King Schwarzenegger’s role. The film starts off somewhat cozy, with Arnie playing the model citizen (the sheriff) of the town, but he certainly won’t let you off that easily especially when he knows you’re up to no good.
The story doesn’t waste it’s time in unraveling the secrets. Despite it having the ability to keep us on our toes with the twists and turns, we still found it a tad predictable. And here’s one spoiler that you can’t afford to miss if you haven’t seen the film – Arnie flaunts his wrestling skills in a “mano e mano” duel with the villain. As cheesy as it can be, it’s still great to see Arnie doing what he does best!
The film is certainly a must-see. Although we felt that it was little too safe in terms of the story progression, it was still a memorable film with a solid cast.
