The backlash has gone a little out of hand after the announcement of PSY’s mini concert in Penang that is due to happen duringChinese New Year. Usually, a concert or performance means good news. But not in this case! It has become such a controversial matter – and everyone has something to say.

Malaysian Facebook users have taken this situation to heart and have started a campaign asking the “Gangnam Style” popstar to cancel his Chinese New Year performance in Penang.

This is a concert that was organized by Malaysia’s ruling party, Barisian Nasional. According to this source, the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will attend the open house event, alongside an estimated of 60,000 guests. The open house will be held at Penang Han Chiang High School and the event starts from 10am to 1pm. PSY is expected to perform his viral hit Gangnam Style at the open house too.

The party has admitted that this a strategy to get and attract young voters through the event. None the less, the Malaysian’s are standing up and stating what they think.

Here are a few comments that have been made:

We wonder how this will turn out. Do YOU think it’s a good idea? What will PSY think?
