Denim brand, Levi’s has unveiled its first non-denim collection on the 140th anniversary of the iconic Levi’s 501 jeans. Levi’s Malaysia prepared a series of exclusive intimate sessions for the media and the people from fashion industry to celebrate the anniversary and the launch of the new collection at Hit & Mrs in Bangsar.
For the last 140 years, the Levi’s 501 jeans held an influential place in the fashion industry and has since became a cultural icon. The popularity never faded but only grew stronger and the Levi’s 501 jeans are now the most worn and loved jeans in the world.
To mark the 140th anniversary of the classic 501 jeans, Levi’s decided to introduce a whole new concept with a non-denim Levi’s 501 collection for Spring Summer. True to its concept, the four-piece non-denim collection features the product’s true essence and timeless spirit with a series of colour including true chino, chalk blue, mineral red and ivy green.
At the exclusive event for the 140th anniversary of Levi’s 501 jeans, Cris Yong, one of the Malaysia’s renowned stylists showcased four different looks featuring the newest non-denim collection. As seen in the image, he has added a special touch of classical vintage into the four looks. From the English gentleman look to the smart 50s menswear look; from the sailor to the native warrior look, the four looks has portrayed the best of the men from four different generations with the non-denim collection.
The next generation in Levi’s 501 jeans gives a fine touch to the design aesthetic with the thoughtful tailoring on the products. The non-denim pants provides more comfort around the waist with the slightly tighter contour. Perhaps a more delightful feature of the pants was that it features a slightly larger pockets with shallower yoke to store the latest smart phone. The stronger stitching and reinforced belt loops, inseams, buttonholes and cuffs also gives a perfect finishing touch for the new non-denim pants.
Price ranging from RM299 to RM399, The new Levi’s 501 jeans non-denim collection will be available in stores from February onwards.
