Out of all the “improvements” we would love to have on our faces would be to enhance the size of our eyes. There’s no denying that Asian women are close to obsessed with having perfect doll-eyes as it’s both captivating and sexy. And you don’t need surgery to do that. With a few tools and tricks in the beauty bar, you can also give yourself a pretty pair of peepers!
1. Concealer
Conceal your under eye area with concealer appropriately to hide dark eye-bags, helping your eyes appear brighter. After you blend the concealer in your skin, dab the area with a sponge to even out the application and to avoid streaks.
2. Double Eyelid Tape
A lot of Asian women are born with monolids, or without the double eyelid crease. If you have monolids, all you need some eyelid tape, or eyelid glue. Apply on clean, dry eyelids, and follow the natural line of the inner wall of your eye socket. Let it dry for a minute, and then use the Y-stick to push the upper eyelid toward the adhesive strip.
3. White Eyeliner
To make your eyes appear bigger, use white eyeliner in the waterline of your lower eyelids. Alternatively, you can also apply it in the inner corners of the top and lower eyelids.
4. Contact Lenses
Whether it’s clear or colored ones specifically made to make your eyes look bigger, contact lenses can give your eyes a nice hue, making it more captivating to look at. If you’re getting colored contacts, opt for natural colors like browns if you’re Asian. Blue, green and amethyst shades can make you look a little washed out.
5. Bright Eye Makeup
Since the season of spring and summer is slowly creeping up, give bright eyeshadow a try. Neons are always fun to experiment with, but don’t forget to use an eyelid primer to keep it from running.
6. Shimmering Eyeshadow
If you love a smokey eye, but hate that it makes your eyes look small, use a cotton swab and dip on some light shimmering eyeshadow like silver, rose gold, or bronze, and lightly dab it around the inner corners of your eye and lower lash line. It’ll open up your eyes a lot more.
7. Blue Eyeliner
The cool tones of blue eyeliner, whether it’s a dark midnight blue, or vibrant cobalt blue will give give you the advantage of big peepers. If you’re using bright blue eyeliner, keep the lips in a neutral shade to avoid looking a little too over the top.
8. Mascara
A good mascara wand will be the best bet to help open up your eyes. Choose a black or dark brown mascara, with a lengthening effect as it’ll fan out your lashes, and it’ll help make your eyes appear bigger. False eyelashes should do the trick too!
