Menard has been distributing their own skin care and cosmetic products in Malaysia for over 20 years. In November 2012, they opened the first Menard Facial Salon concept shop in Plaza Damas, Sri Hartams, and we had the special chance of pampering ourselves to a relaxing facial session.
At the Menard facial salon, they don’t just offer relaxing and pampering sessions to customers, but offer consultation to customers on which skin care would suit their skin, while teaching them how to use the products appropriately. Menard believes that it’s not impossible to have radiant skin, and that all it takes is a complete beauty regime at home.
The Menard facial is unlike any other facial we’ve tried. Each step throughout the entire process is backed by their Research & Development center in Japan, and emphasizes on Shiatsu points on the face. These key points have individual effects, and have been known to aid in the following:
Prevent wrinkles around the mouth
Helps open the nasal passages and promotes lymphatic flow
Helps ease tired, puffy eyes
Reduces facial swelling
Removes waste and water retention
Ease tired eyes, tight shoulders and neck fatigue, while being able to relieve headaches.
The Menard facial was 60 minutes of sheer bliss, and even included some special techniques like the vibration and vacuum treatment. The process started out with a simple cleanse to remove the makeup and oily impurities from the pores. Then, our skin was warmed up with a unique wand to facilitate healthy blood circulation that will enable the supplement of nutrients and oxygen into the skin.
Next, we were given a relaxing facial and decollate massage to relax the body while accelerating healthy metabolism in the skin, and a special vibration technique to stimulate lymph movement so waste material can be discarded from the lymphatic system.
The most exciting process was the vacuuming, where a vacuum pipe was used on the skin surface to pull out excess sebum and stubborn impurities from the pores like blackheads. It was a relaxing process, where emphasis was especially given on the oily T-zone. The skin was then cleansed again, and then proceeded to be replenished with moisture with a lotion pack, to rehydrate the skin.
The process then followed up with a cooling session to relax, tighten and firm the skin, and then prepped with a milk lotion to replenish the moisture contents of the skin.
Although it was a fairly long process, it was still beneficiary. Our beautician at the Menard Facial Salon recommended this process at least twice a month, as the skin’s ideal metabolism lasts for 28 days, and the skin ages as it slows down. In order to encourage customers to care for their skin, Menard offers a package deal called the Keep System, where customers will purchase their own set of products to keep in-store, while enjoying discounts and an extra service for free.
Our verdict is that Menard is more than just dedicated to providing aesthetic treatments to help you maintain beautiful skin, but they’re also aim on giving the best services and product, while giving customers a chance to enjoy great deals.
