Pin Curls
Pin curls are the easiest no-fail hair styles to conquer during the festive season. It’s a classic look that matches just about anything, and it’s easy to do when you don’t have much time. It’s the perfect go-to look for party hosts!
Day old hair is the best to work with pin curls. If you have fine, limp hair, try back combing the roots a slight bit to give it extra volume. Part your hair to the side and divide hair into sections. Grab a strand about an inch thick and roll it up using your fingers (they should resemble little barrels until it reaches the scalp, then pin them down with a bobby pin. Do the throughout the entire head and leave it on for an hour or two. Remove pins carefully, and use a hairdryer to apply some heat to set. Using your fingers, loosen up the little barrels with your fingers and twirl them down. Scrunch some mousse or secure with hair spray.
The Top Knot
This look will not only make you look polished, but it is versatile, and you can accessorize with a few flowers over the bun for a romantic feel, or pair with a lined eye and red lip for a Parisienne look.
Start by prepping hair with serum and brushing until it’s tangle-free, and continue brushing to gather a high pony tail. Spritz the ends with a smoothing oil for shine, then coil the pony tail around the crown of your head. Secure with a bobby pins, and pull a few tiny strands for a flyaway effect.
The Flirty Pompadour
This 50’s inspired stye certainly adds a little playful oomph to your Christmas look, and can be paired with your hair down or even with a slick pony-tail.
Start by taking a portion of your bangs, then back-comb, pinning it down securely with a bobby pin. Take another one-inch section of the front part, teasing it with a fine-toothed comb. Continue combing until it becomes a clump. Using a bristle brush, comb the rest of the hair back, then securing it with a bobby-pin. Use some medium-hold spray to keep it in place.
Barely-there Beach Waves
Simple and easy to maintain throughout the night, this look is perfect for those with long hair. Minimum effort is required for this look and you don’t even have to buy any products.
Tease the roots a slight bit around the crown to give your hair some volume. Dampen your tresses and brush it smoothly with a serum. Make a sea-salt spray mixture using warm water and organic sea salt and spritz it over the ends, the scrunching lightly, or for more defined curls, use your fingers and twirl it around lightly.
