From now till early February 2013, the Kraemer Gallery is celebrating ‘The Final 100 Days of the Year of the Dragon’ (2012-2013) in a rare showcase of authentic Asia-inspired artistic furniture and ornaments from its famed collection in Paris.
To commemorate the current ‘Year of the Water Dragon’ in the Chinese zodiac, the Kraemer Gallery has gathered a number of pieces of 18th Centry French ‘Chinoiserie’ furniture and ornaments. The collection pieces exhibiting in Singapore are especially curated for art lovers an pay homage to the Asian culture that has immensely influence French artistic creation.
The collection pieces are being displayed “on the water” throughout the hotel lobby of Marina Bay Sands.
Look out for the Louis XV pedestal clock (circa 1754) that includes elaborated decorations in marquetry as well as chased, pierced and gilt bronze and decorated with dragons. Or have a look at the exquisite Louis XV dark, golden and polychromatic lacquer commode (1745).
The oldest piece of the collection at Marina Bay Sands is a pair of Louis XIV pots in blue Chinese porcelain that date back to the first decade of the 18th century.
The Final 100 Days of the Year of the Dragon will run until Chinese New Year in February 2013.
