We will always remember Vanessa Hudgens as Gabriella in the High School Musical Series, but we’ll always remember this teenage icon not only as a talent, but a fashionista as well. There’s no doubt that Vanessa always looks perfect with simple dark smokey eyes, paired with the tanned radiant skin. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help achieve Vanessa’s classic smokey eye look to pair with her gorgeous olive skin.
Eyes
Vanessa obviously knows that her eyes are her best assets, which is why generally sticks to a simple look with eyeliner, eyeshadow in various shades of brown, and not forgetting an eyelash curler to define her beautiful lashes. For a natural look, start with a creamy taupe eyeshadow and define the creases by blending in a darker shade of brown. Use a dark brown kohl on the outer lash line and smudge lightly. Tuck your lashes in between the eyelash curler, and get as close as you can to the root, then squeeze for 2 to 3 times. Add two to three coats of lengthening mascara and you’re good to go!
Lips
A smokey eye can look fabulous with a nude lip. If you have an olive skin tone like Vanessa, you want to try it giving your lips a peachy nude tint instead of neutral nude shade to avoid washing your lips out. A hint of pink or peach lipgloss on top of a nude lipstick will give you a gorgeous glow that is both natural and complements your eyes.
Face
Great olive skin tones don’t really require that much foundation as it already has a pop of color, and an overload may only make it look cakey. Remember to start with a foundation base before getting you apply foundation, followed by a concealer to hide any blemishes and scars on your face. Don’t forget to add a peachy shade of blusher to your cheeks to finish up with a vibrant glow!
