The holiday spirit here, and during the festive season, there is no doubt that there’ll be an abundance of some delicious holiday treats. And while a lot of us are very concerned about staying slim during the season, here’s a few tricks for the health conscious ladies to stay slim during the holiday season.

1. Know What You Eat
If it’s a buffet spread, choose your portions and sides according to its nutrient content. Choose low-fat options, lean meats and don’t forget to count your glasses of alcohol.

2. Eat Slowly
Taking your time and savor your festive meals. Studies show that the faster you eat, the more you tend to want to consume, so put your fork down between mouthfuls, chew at least thirteen times,  and remember that it’s not an eating contest.

3. Get Moving
Try squeezing in at least twenty minutes of exercise of everyday if you don’t have a strict workout routine. Twenty minutes might not seem a lot, but considering what you’re going to be eating during the festive season, at least you’re able to burn off some of that tart!

4. Wear Fitted Clothing
So, you’ve got a dress that fits just right, but you know very well that it’s got no room left for any expansion. Wear that little outfit, so you’ll not only look good, but at least you’ll be motivated to maintain looking good.

5. Don’t Worry About Leftovers
If you’re visiting a friends house and all your meals are already served on the table, don’t worry about leaving a couple leftovers on the plate. If you’re too shy, you can pass them to someone who’ll be happy to consume it on your behalf.

6. Count Your Calories
You’re more likely to be careful with what you eat when you start counting just how much calories are in the dishes are being served. Do some research on just how much calories a turkey drumstick has, and you’re more likely to simply savor on a small piece of it.
