Meet Armando Reed. A hottie. But not just any hottie. A hottie that cooks. A contestant on second season of Diva Universal’s treat for ladies, Hot Guys Who Cook, the Austin native has his very own cooking show, Armando’s Asian Twist and he is now set to tantalize the ladies with his culinary skills. We got a couple minutes of his time so he can tell you girls just what he thinks is the sexiest, and what he’d be doing if he weren’t cooking.
Q. What can your viewers expect from you on the show?
They can expect meals that are both quick, easy and basically anyone could do at home. My whole idea of cooking is something bold and fresh. The viewers will probably expect a lot of humor, and they’ll most probably see my competitive side.
Q. What intrigued you the most about joining Hot Guys Who Cook?
It was the competitive aspect of it. It’s also something completely different for the audience, compared to a normal food show but Hot Guys Who Cook is like a reality-show with a competitive feature to it. You’ve got three guys, they’re good-looking, and they cook. Some of them may cook better than others, but you have to sell your dish and you’d have to bring it on to all levels of the competition.
Q. What food or cuisine do you find to be the sexiest?
For me, food is sexy when it tastes good. When the food looks sexy, but it doesn’t taste good, then it’s not at all sexy! Apart from presentation and desserts, I love anything where you’d get your hands dirty to really enjoy it – like barbecue, or even durian! If someone can eat a durian with a lot of sex appeal, that’s a very difficult thing to do.
Q. Since you are a cook yourself, would your ideal partner have skills in the kitchen as well?
It’s not really important to me that they’re good in the kitchen, but it’d be great if they at least know their way around the kitchen. But then again, if we’re cooking together, it opens the door for something you can do with someone you love.
Q. If you weren’t cooking, what else would you be doing?
If I weren’t cooking, I would probably be doing something in the tech industry because I am such a gadget freak, and I have an active interest in what goes on in Math Arena.
Q. What would your signature dish be?
It would probably be a classic New York cheesecake, because I love to bake and I have yet to meet anyone who isn’t head over heels in love with the cheesecake that I make. So, a classic New York cheesecake with fresh raspberry compote.
