Our Review
To be completely honest, when first saw the trailer we thought that the movie is going to be pretty off as Pi was seen on a boat lost in the middle of nowhere. You know that kinda movie where you’re stranded and you need to survive things like that. The moment when the movie started, we literally took our words back. After all, they say ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ right?
The movie kicks off when Pi’s family decided to move to Canada. For a family that owns a zoo, they had to bring all the animals with them in big ship. Throughout the journey, a horrifying storm shows up and leads to shipwreck. We suggest you to bring a pack or maybe a box of tissue as this scene really touches your heart.
We cant express how splendid Ang Lee did with this movie. With all the vibrant colours and superb cinematography everything seems real. He showed a different side of India and the other places that was shot. The CGI animals on the other hand were beautifully crafted; you can’t tell which is which.
We were impressed by Suraj Sharma’s (Pi) acting, as this is his first time being in a movie. Sharma’s emotions were honest and true in a sense where we pulled into the movie. For a first timer, he definitely nailed it.
Trust us, you don’t want to miss this movie.
