While the whole of New York City mourns the chaotic devastation of Hurricane Sandy, former Brazilian Playboy model took advantage of the situation and made it a backdrop for a series of glamor model shots, which left many people enraged.
In pictures, Nana Gouvea can be found wearing a long-sleeved black top, tight leggings and ankle boots, striking poses in front of a toppled tree, and balances herself on the hood of a smashed BMW with the help of some broken branches in another image.
In an interview, Gouvea explained that she’d been stuck in her New York apartment with her husband, and found the hurricane “romantic”.
Gouvea’s pictures of the photoshoot were found on website ego.globo.com and soon created a wave of outrage and critic, One Twitter user dubbed it “the weirdest photo shoot ever”, while another wrote in Portuguese that she had “shamed Brazil”.
However, internet users have also turned Gouvea into an internet meme, where images of her modeling were set against the September 11 destruction, the sinking of the Titanic and more. Even a Facebook page called “Nana Gouvea in Disasters” was created and has obtained over 3000 likes. (Source)
