We can’t help but watch them grow up as if they were our own children, so lets take a look back at our favorite child stars and see what they’re up to now!
DREW BARRYMORE
She’s our favorite Charlie’s Angels who started her breakout role as the adorable Gertie in the Steven Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. However, her early childhood wasn’t all perfect as she had recurring drug and alcohol abuse at a very early age. However, she came out of that phase and is now a successful woman, with her own production company called Flower Films. She has to be one of the top child stars whose gone through a troubling childhood and grew up to be so successful. She is now married and recently gave birth to her first child!
LINDSAY LOHAN
We can’t forget Lindsay’s adorable freckled face and fiery auburn hair in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap, and her lead-role in teenage comedy, Mean Girls. However, growing up hasn’t been the easiest for her with countless career interruptions like her battle with alcohol, drugs and excessive partying. She seems to be quite a controversy queen, and we can only hope she can start acting in decent movies again.
THE OLSEN TWINS
The Olsen twins began their acting career as early as infants on the TV series, Full House. As little kids, they were already geared for success when in 1993, they established the company Dualstar, which produced the twins’ subsequent films and videos, and even got leading toy company, Mattel to produce Mary-Kate and Ashley dolls. The girls are now involved in the fashion world, where they’ve been declared as fashion icons and even have their own couture fashion label, “The Row.
HILARY DUFF
Hilary Duff is an American actress who was well-known for title role of Disney Channel’s teen comedy Lizzie McGuire. Apart from acting, she has ventured into the music industry with numerous albums that did pretty well. She also has a recurring role in Season 3 of the teenage drama, Gossip Girl. She is now married to former hockey player Mike Comrie, and has one child.
MACAULAY CULKIN
He was ranked No. 2 in VH1‘s list “100 Greatest Kid-Stars”, and he’s even appeared in Michael Jackson’s music video Black or White.
He’s none other than the iconic face of Home Alone, Macaulay Culkin! The cute blonde was regarded as the most successful actor at the height of his career. Culkin’s career as an actor didn’t bloom as much, but he has appeared in unique roles that clearly showcases his talent as a fantastic actor!
BRITNEY SPEARS
Regarded as the “Princess of Pop”. Britney Spears began performing as a child made her claim to fame as a teenage solo artist after the debut of her album …Baby One More Time in 1999. From shotgun-weddings in Vegas to mental breakdowns, Britney’s gone through numerous ups and downs in life, but she obvious seems like she can stand on her own now as a judge on reality series X-Factor.
