If you’re looking to save yourself about 10 minutes of make-up time, or even when you’re running late, we’ve got 4 simple make-up looks up our sleeves to help you achieve a major ‘WOW’ effect that’s absolutely quick, easy and effortless!
Matte Fuchsia pout
A bold lip colour can do wonders to a tired face, and it’s can also be your perfect tool to go a day without any make-up. A bright lip color like hot pink or fuchsia means minimal fuss where you can even tie you hair up, and still look fantastic! It looks great on all skin tones, from pale white skin, to even dark cocoa. Remember to choose a color with bluish undertones that will make your teeth look whiter. You want a winning smile, after all.
Prep your lips with a mild scrub, then run a small layer of lipbalm over your lips. Use a matching lipliner to line the perfect Cupid’s bow, then fill your lips together for mild pink stain. Swipe on your favorite hot pink lipstick, then gently use a cotton swab or tissue to wipe the edges of your mouth to soften the lips.
Twiggy Eyes
We’re taking cue from a 60’s style icon to achieve this look, and we’re adopting the eyelashes. A simple and natural way to bigger and brighter eyes comes from your eyelashes. Create mesmerizing eyes with thick and clumpy eyelashes ala Twiggy.
Start by canceling out dark-circles with a concealer to keep the focus on your lashes. Then swipe a neutral eyeshadow over your eyelids for a clean and flawless backdrop. Curl your lashes then apply three or more coats of very black mascara by wiggling the brush into the base of the lashes. Use a brown mascara and comb through to highlight your eyes.
Nude Pink Pout
You can never go wrong with nude pink lips, but they’re a bigger step beyond the regular neutral lips as they look more romantic and kissable! Opt for a color that looks more natural and slightly sheer to complement your skin tone If you’re dark-skinned, pick something that’s more sheer and candy-like, while medium-skinned beauties can opt for something with a little more intensity like mauve. If you have fair skin, choose a rose-like hue.
Start by prepping your lips with a scrub and a layer of lip balm, then using your finger, run the tip along the top of the lipstick, then dab the color onto your lips. Take it slow so you can control how much you’re applying to reach your preferred level of a soft and romantic look. Keep eyebrows prepped and tidy. Use an eyeliner to gently define the shape of your eyes, then use a layer of mascara that lengthens your lashes for a angelic doe-eyed look. Finish off with a soft-pink blush and illuminating powder to highlight and define your cheeks bones.
Pop Art Eyelids
Bring some fun back to your eyes by using a bright color on your eyelids. Choose colors like tangerine, blue or pink and pair with neutral to nude lips to draw the attention to your eyes.
If you can’t find a bright-colored eyeliner, use one of your eyeshadows or lipliner instead! Start by prepping your lids with an eye-shadow primer to keep it from smudging or ‘melting’ in the humid weather. If you’re using eyeshadow, get an angled eye-liner brush, sweep it in your cake of eyeshadow and slowly dap the color across the upper lash line, from inner tear ducts to the outer corners until you reach a level of intensity that you are comfortable with. Then, soften the look with big and bright eyes by dusting shimmery white eyeshadow below the brow-bone.
Finish off with a small layer of mascara so that your eyelids remain the focus, and not your lashes!
