Most people would always want their weddings to be different from the normal traditional weddings which you attend most of the time. But to what extreme would you go to make that dream come true? 32 year-old Bob Ewing and 30 year-old Antonie Hodge made their wildest dream come true when they decided to exchange their wedding vows at the peak of Seneca Rocks in West Virginia.
Bob and Antonie decided to get married at the peak of this mountain after Bob proposed to Antonie in March and she suggested that their wedding should be held at that very spot as well. Among the family members who climbed the 900 foot mountain were Bob’s two brothers and Antonie’s mum. Antonie’s mum, Evangeline Hodge claimed that she had to climb the mountain as she wanted to prove to herself that she could do it and she wanted to do it on behalf of all the old people out there (source).

While in most family members and friends would surround the bride and groom as they exchange their vows, it was different in Bob and Antonie’s case because there wasn’t enough space for everyone to be at the peak. Those who didn’t have the chance to climb participated in a second ceremony and reception which was held the following day (source).
According to Arthur Kearns, the owner of Seneca Rocks Climbing School, people have occasionally gotten married at the peak but it’s the first time someone got married there in their formal attire. He himself wanted to get married there 19 years ago but he pulled out after reaching 200 feet off the ground as he was afraid of heights.
