3 Alternatives To Shaving Cream When You’re In A Haste

Most of us shave, but doing it correctly is a whole other story. You should never dry-shave, and it’s just common sense to moisten the skin three minutes prior as it helps to plump up the hairs for a closer shave. A fine razor aside, most people also apply shaving cream or gel for an even smoother shave without irritation.

With that said, shaving cream implicates yet another cost to our already long list of commodities, and what if you run out of it halfway through?! Here are some alternatives we love:

1. Conditioner

Yup, who would have thought that using the product to moisturise your hair with could be a fantastic shaving agent? According to cosmetic chemist Ginger King, “Conditioners are cationic which can coat the hair and give a smoother shave and leave legs soft.” While there are also those who replace shaving creams with body soap, conditioners are generally a better choice as soaps tend to dry out the skin and leave it feeling prickly.

2. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is great for everything, and it’s also readily available in your kitchen! In fact, it works wonders as a lip balm, makeup remover, conditioner, body scrub and even as an acne treatment. Coconut oil is rich in anti-fungal and anti-bacterial components, which is perfect for preventing razor burns. Just like conditioner, it also moisturises the skin so that you won’t end up with lizard legs or a rough aftershave.

3. Gillette Venus ComfortGlide White Tea Razor

Why not opt for a razor that is equipped with built-in moisture bars instead? There is one less thing for you to worry about, and the Gillette Venus ComfortGlide White Tea Razor offers a comfortable and very smooth shave. The aforementioned moisture bars are infused with rich body butters so it is extremely convenient for travelling too. Personalised for a woman’s grip, there are three curve-hugging blades on the razor, and it has a fresh, tropical scent you’d dig.
