1. She included family with work
Whitney Houston made sure that everyone who worked with her was family. They managed her, sang with her, wrote songs with her, and they were even her bodyguards.
Whitney never wanted to be away from home. She enjoyed doing things around the house and most of all, spending time with her husband and family. She always wanted to live the ‘normal life’ with a family.
Her father, John Houston gave her the nickname, ‘Nippy’ when she was a baby. It is related to a cartoon character who was always getting in trouble. As a baby, Whitney kept kicking off her winter blanket, her father kept covering her again and that’s when he though, “Nippy, seldom right’
Whitney was the first female artist to have twi diamond album. In January 1994, her album ‘Whitney Houston’ and ‘The Bodyguard Soundtrack’ had hit platinum over 10 times. Whitney’s albums have also spent over 51 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts – that is more than any other female artist.
5. She was a model
Believe it or not, Whitney Houston didn’t always dream of being a singer. In her teenage years, she dreamt of becoming a model and at one point, she was able to hit the cover of Seventeen magazine!

1. I Will Always Love You (The Bodyguard Soundtrack, 1999)
This song is considered as a classic when Whitney Houston comes to mind. The deep lyrics and that powerful voice – it gives us goosebumps each and every time we listen to this song. It is based on the movie ‘The Bodyguard’ staring Whitney herself, and Kevin Costner.
This is one of her most recent songs, and though it is not as powerful in tone as her previous hits – there is still something about the lyrics and the entire music video that keeps our eyes glue and ears open.
Here is another classic! Once again, the lyrics and that voice – the way she sings the entire song – it gives us goosebumps through out the entire song.
