If you are a girl who loves the combination of chick-flick and fashion, well then, we’re summing up our top five fashion-related movies for you. Whether it’s a girl with a passion for fashion or a lifestyle in the magazine industry – these movies will make you laugh, cry and most of all, enjoy fashion to it’s fullest extent.

1. The Devil Wears Prada
Rating: 4/5
STARING: Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt

If you have little kick for working in the magazine industry, then this movie is something you must watch. It’s encouraging and educational too. People think working the fahsion industry is all bright lights and colour petals, but this movie shows it straight to the point.

This movie was said to be inspired by Anna Wintour and Vogue magazine.

2. Sex and The City
Rating: 3/5
STARING: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis

Sex and The City is your typical heart filled chick-flick. It is the story of four best friends living their lives in New York City. Originally, Sex and The City was a TV series – but they decided to make one movie for the ending of it all. The movie revolves around Carrie Bradshaw who is a best selling author writing about the life she lives. Carrie is also a fashion addict – and in this movie, she is about to get married, and goes through designs by Vera Wang, Vivienne Westwood and so many more. If you want to watch a movie filled with designer products, then this is a must-watch. Fashionable girls, New York City and a story of friendship and love.

3, The September Issue
Rating: 5/5
STARING: Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, Sienna Miller

The Devil Wears Prada was scripted – The September Issue is the real life full frontal version of what happens in the magazine industry. It follows Vogue’s September issue which is the most important month in magazine publication.

From photoshoots to the layout of how the magazine is suppose to turn out – you get a sneak peak into everything. It’s pretty inspiring too. The main focus itself is none other than Anna Wintour herself. She is the editor of Vogue – and the scariest face in fashion. Scary as in, she’s fierce.

If you have a kick for the magazine industry and you want to know what really happens in the inside, this is the movie for you. It’s clean-cut and real.

4. Coco Avant Chanel
Rating: 3/5
STARING: Audrey Tautou, Marie Gillain

This is the biography of Coco Chanel before and after her discovery in fashion. This movie is heart warming and gutting all at the same time – it is deep and real. But a warning – the entire movie is in French, so you will need subtitles. It is one of those inspiring movies that makes you realize how much work a designer goes through to get to the place they want to be.

If you want to be a designer in the future – you need to watch this!

5. Confessions of A Shopaholic
Rating: 3/5
STARING: Isla Fisher, Krysten Ritter, Joan Cusack

Got a little bit of a shopping problem? This is a movie that all shopaholics should sit and watch – especially if you’ve been using your credit card endlessly. Confessions of A Shopahilc is the story of a girl who can’t seem to admit that she has a major shopping problem. Only when she loses her job and her life spirals downwards does she realize that she needs to fix so many things about herself. We love it because it has that ‘feel-good’ factor to it, and it’s hilarious, as well.
