It’s been about a week now since the news of Tom & Katie’s divorce – and now things are getting a little more clearer as the time goes by. With the arguement of what exactly tore them apart – it seems to be a mixture of Tom’s beliefs in Scientology, their daughter Suri, and perhaps many other hidden things that we have yet to uncover.
In the August edition of ELLE Magazine, Katie Holmes speaks up about Tom. Here’s what she had to say:
On Tom: “He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years…I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that.”
On whether being Mrs. Tom Cruise helped her in the industry: “Things are not handed to anyone. If anything, you work a little bit harder when you’re in such visible circumstances.”
On being in her 30s: “I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my twenties – it’s like you’re trying too hard to figure everything out…I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.” (source: ELLE)
From the sounds of it, Katie is growing up. Tom and Katie did in fact get married pretty fast. Now after six years of marriage, they are calling it quits. Using the excuse of Tom’s Scientology beliefs, Katie says she fears that their daughter Suri will be captured in it, hence why she is filing for sole custody.
